Self, who took office in 2023 after replacing Van Taylor, discussed topics ranging from immigration policy to financial regulation and expressed condolences for a recent tragedy.

On January 29, 2025, Rep. Keith Self posted a tweet conveying a firm stance on immigration enforcement. He stated: "This is a strong message of deterrence… Come here illegally? Commit crimes on U.S. soil? You’re going to Guantanamo!"

Later that day, he addressed financial regulation by sharing information about his legislative efforts to alter the funding of a federal agency. On January 29, 2025, he tweeted: "Read more about my bill to reduce the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) statutory funding cap to $0 HERE @TexasScorecard"

In another tweet dated January 30, 2025, Rep. Keith Self offered his condolences following an aviation accident. He wrote: "Praying for the families and loved ones of those who perished in the tragic collision at Reagan National Airport. May they find strength and comfort in this difficult time."
