On January 31, 2025, Rep. Self addressed an incident involving "the DC Five babies who were brutally murdered" in Washington D.C., discovered near the Washington Surgi-Clinic. He announced his intention to introduce legislation with Rep. Andy Biggs aimed at addressing this issue: "DC authorities can no longer turn a blind eye to the DC Five babies who were brutally murdered - one possibly by an illegal partial birth abortion - and discovered in a cardboard box next to the Washington Surgi-Clinic."
Later that day, Rep. Self unveiled new legislation targeting what he described as President Biden's "failed" enforcement of the Partial Birth Abortion Ban.
