Rep. Keith Self, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 3rd district since 2023, recently expressed his views on government waste and data privacy in a series of tweets. The congressman replaced Van Taylor in his current role and resides in McKinney, Texas.

On February 10, 2025, Rep. Self highlighted perceived inconsistencies in public reactions to government actions by noting that "The same people expressing outrage at @DOGE for digging into government waste are oddly silent about the @CFPB mining American citizens’ personal financial information…" He referenced an incident from 2013 to emphasize his point.

Later that day, he announced legislative action against the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), stating "Let’s make this screenshot permanent." Rep. Self further mentioned collaborating with Sen. Ted Cruz to introduce the Defund the CFPB Act aimed at terminating what he describes as a "harmful agency."

In another tweet posted on February 10, 2025, Rep. Self showed support for fellow Congressman Tom Tiffany by sharing a post featuring Tiffany's name and national symbols: ".@RepTiffany "
