Steve Asher assumes role as Collin County's Precinct 4 constable

Collin County has appointed Steve Asher as the new constable for Precinct 4. With a career spanning 29 years in law enforcement, Asher offers significant expertise and leadership.

Originally from Sparks, Nevada, Asher began his law enforcement journey with the Sparks Police Department, where he eventually became Chief of Police. Over his 24-year tenure there, he served in various roles such as Patrol Commander and Detective Commander. He also worked as an Internal Affairs Lieutenant and Training Sergeant. His experience includes serving as a SWAT officer, motorcycle officer, and detective.

In 2013, Asher moved to Texas to be closer to family and joined the Collin County Sheriff's Office. During his eight years there, he held positions like Administrative and Operations Assistant Chief Deputy and Patrol Lieutenant. Before being elected constable, he was the Chief Deputy Constable for Precinct 4 in Frisco.

Asher's educational background includes a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Homeland Security from Northcentral University and an Associate of Applied Science degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement from Truckee Meadows Community College. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy (Session 229) and completed the Senior Management Institute for Policing at Harvard University. His certifications range from Master to Basic Peace Officer Certificates.

Involved in community activities, Asher is associated with Hope Fellowship Church, the FBI National Academy Association, and other professional groups. His hobbies include camping, water skiing, hunting, and biking.

The Precinct 4 Constable's Office is situated at Sub-Courthouse Frisco office on John Wesley Drive in Frisco.
