Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis announced that Joseph Baker, 46, from Allen, Texas, has been sentenced to 60 years in prison without parole for the continuous sexual abuse of two children over a period of 14 years.

Baker's crimes began when he started abusing the first child at the age of seven and continued until the victim was 20. When the first victim moved out, Baker then targeted another child, starting the abuse cycle again when the second victim was 13.

The second victim came forward after about a year of abuse, which initiated an investigation led by Allen Police Detective Jared McConathy. The investigation included interviews with both victims. The first victim confirmed the long-term abuse, while the second provided important details during a forensic interview at the Children's Advocacy Center of Collin County.

A jury found Baker guilty after hearing evidence of his crimes. Judge Tom Nowak sentenced him to 60 years in prison without parole under Texas law for Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child.

District Attorney Greg Willis stated: "This predator robbed these children of their innocence, but today, justice has spoken loud and clear. I strongly commend these courageous survivors for speaking out, the investigators for their relentless pursuit of justice, and the jury for ensuring that this abuser was held accountable. And thanks to Judge Nowak’s sentence, this predator will spend the rest of his life behind bars."

Assistant Criminal District Attorneys Charles Brazell and Abbie Adkins prosecuted Baker's case with support from District Attorney Investigator Kim Voigt-Eanes, Victim Assistance Coordinator Jill Moore, and Legal Secretary Christy Ware.
