Learning doesn't have to halt during the summer. Frisco ISD students and their families are encouraged to take advantage of the numerous summer learning opportunities in preparation for the 2024-25 academic year.

The Elementary Curriculum and Pacing website provides a comprehensive list of concepts that will be covered in each grade level. The digital summer enrichment opportunities include literacy programs such as Amplify Reading, a personalized K-5 reading program based on the science of reading, and MackinVIA, which includes access to Britannica, History Lab, Learn 360, and more.

For math enrichment, students can explore Zearn, where they can delve into math through pictures, visual models and real-life examples. ST Math is another option that leverages the brain’s innate spatial-temporal reasoning ability to solve math problems. Additionally, Math at Home offers activities, games, printable practice books and more.

In terms of Science & Social Studies, STEMscopes Science is available until July 31st while Studies Weekly is accessible until June 30th.

For older students, the Secondary Curriculum and Pacing website lists all concepts that will be covered in the upcoming year. From May 13 through Aug. 31, 2024, Apex Tutorials will offer personalized English, Math, Science, Social Studies tutorials along with STAAR, SAT, ACT and TSIA2 tutorials. These resources can help students identify and address learning gaps in preparation for grade-level instruction in the new school year.

Middle school students can explore science concepts through Stemscopes’ digital curriculum until June 15 via Clever. Furthermore, SAT/PSAT test prep is available through a partnership with Khan Academy and College Board while ACT offers free online ACT preparation through ACT Academy.

Middle school students needing remediation or credit recovery courses can avail themselves of the District’s online Secondary Summer School program. High school students can also recover credit from failed classes or take classes for advancement during summer school.

All Frisco ISD students can access Sora to read audio or electronic books using their 6-digit student ID. The district also offers summer sports camps at various middle and high schools.

The Frisco ISD community is fortunate to have numerous libraries and reading programs readily available, including those in the cities of Frisco, Plano, McKinney, and Little Elm.
