Frisco ISD opens summer transfer window for student relocations

Frisco ISD families who wish to transfer their students to another campus for the 2024-25 academic year can do so during the summer transfer window, which opens from June 28 to July 22. Students are eligible to transfer to campuses with a projected enrollment of less than 90% capacity for grades K-8. Transfer requests for campuses not listed on the District website will not be considered.

Student transfers must be requested annually, even for families that were approved in previous years. However, families who have already requested a transfer for 2024-25 do not need to submit another request.

Frisco ISD will review each student transfer petition individually but follows a set of guidelines to ensure consistency in the process. High school transfers will generally not be approved, except for incoming seniors. Seniors who attended a Frisco ISD campus throughout their junior year and wish to remain at the same campus during their senior year should submit their "Senior Rule" request by 5 p.m. on July 22. The Senior Rule allows members of the Class of 2025 to stay at their current campus even if they move out of their designated zone.

To submit a transfer request, students must be registered with Frisco ISD, and parents or guardians must have created an account on The Portal, which replaces the Guardian Gateway. Guardians should have received an email with their Portal username on June 17 or 18; those who did not receive this email by June 19 should check their spam folder or contact ISRegistration@friscoisd.org.

The Student Transfer tile is only visible to parents in The Portal; therefore, parents need to log in as themselves rather than as their student.
