The application window opens on July 22 for this fall’s FISD Insight program.
FISD Insight offers participants a behind-the-scenes look into Frisco ISD operations. Individuals interested in learning more about Frisco ISD’s inner workings are invited to apply.
“Insight is a great place to start for anyone who has questions about how FISD operates,” said Ashley Sine, director of community relations. “It’s also a foot in the door. Many of our Insight participants continue their involvement in the District for years to come.”
Insight can also provide newcomers to the area with an in-depth first look at their school district. Hana Woldeamanuel, an area resident for four years and parent of a rising Frisco ISD kindergartener, completed the Insight program this spring.
“Insight gave me an opportunity to learn about the operations of the district and how the different departments work together for students’ success,” Woldeamanuel said. “It gave me a well-rounded understanding of our district.”
FISD Insight is a community education forum where participants will tour FISD campuses and buildings and hear presentations from departments including student services, safety, transportation, human resources, fine arts, and athletics. During each session, participants will be able to ask questions and explore Frisco ISD operations further.
Adults who live within the Frisco ISD boundaries, which include parts of Little Elm, Plano, and McKinney, are eligible to apply. Applicants may not be students or employees of FISD.
A $20 cash fee is due on the first day of class. Classes will be held approximately once a month on a Friday from August to December. Most sessions are scheduled from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Applications for the 2024-25 FISD Insight program open at 8 a.m. Monday, July 22, and close at 4 p.m. Tuesday, August 13. Those selected for the program will be notified of their acceptance by email on August 16.
