Families in the Frisco Independent School District (Frisco ISD) have the opportunity to apply for an in-district transfer for their students starting December 10, with the application window closing on January 6. This marks the only chance for families to request a school change within the district for the 2025-26 academic year.

The summer transfer window has been eliminated, a move aimed at aiding principals in planning classes during the spring hiring season. The absence of this option helps avoid unexpected changes in master schedules, which can complicate classroom and teacher assignments while maintaining balanced class sizes.

Transfers are available for campuses projected to have less than 90% capacity for grades K-8. A list of eligible campuses is available for those interested. Students currently approved for transfers in grades K-4 and 6-7 do not need to reapply if they wish to remain at their current transfer campus for the following year. Once a student is approved and remains in good standing, they may stay at their assigned campus throughout its grade offerings.

General high school transfer requests will not be considered. Families must apply during the designated window, from December 10, 2024, to January 6, 2025. Notifications regarding acceptance or denial will be sent by Friday, January 24, 2025. Following approval, families should register with Frisco ISD during annual registration.
