McKinney ISD announced at its Board of Trustees meeting on Monday, May 13, that Frazier Elementary Assistant Principal Karime Terrazas has been selected to serve as the new principal of Webb Elementary. Terrazas, who boasts 24 years of experience in education including 17 years in administration, will fill the position vacated by Maria Hafner who was chosen to be the new principal of Wolford Elementary.
Terrazas expressed her gratitude towards the Frazier community and assured them of their continued success. “I am confident that the strong foundation we have built together at Frazier will continue to thrive,” she said in a letter to parents and staff. “I have every confidence in the capabilities of our dedicated staff and the unwavering commitment of our parents to uphold the values and principles that define our school.”
Having served in Irving, Lewisville and McKinney ISDs over her career, Terrazas joined MISD in 2018 as an assistant principal at Minshew Elementary. In 2023, she was chosen as the first assistant principal for Frazier Elementary during its inaugural year. As she prepares for her new role at Webb Elementary, Terrazas pledged her commitment to the students and their future.
In another announcement from MISD's May board meeting, Becky Jackson has been named Director of Data and Analytics for the district. With 22 years in public education including 13 years focused on using data to enhance student learning experiences and outcomes, Jackson brings considerable expertise to her role.
Jackson began her career as a 7th grade math teacher at a Title I campus in Plano ISD. Her journey has been marked by a commitment to leveraging data for student success. She has served various roles from Title I math instructional coach to school improvement coordinator where she used data effectively for enhancing educational outcomes.
With a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Dallas and a master’s in mathematics curriculum and instruction, Jackson is also pursuing a Ph.D. in educational psychology with a focus on research, measurement and statistics through the University of North Texas. As she takes on her new role as Director of Data and Analytics, Jackson expressed her excitement to join the McKinney ISD family.
