Enrollment Analysis: white students comprised 43% of Wylie ISD schools' student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 8,102 white students enrolled in Wylie ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 0% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Wylie ISD schools welcomed 18,850 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, white students comprised 43% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Wylie ISD roughly covers schools within Collin County and has a main office in Wylie.

Among the 21 schools in Wylie ISD schools, Wylie High School recorded the highest enrollment of white students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 1,310 students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
