Frisco Independent School District (FISD) is preparing for the upcoming 2025-26 school year by inviting families to register new students online starting February 11. This registration includes families relocating to the district, incoming kindergarten students, and those re-enrolling after a break.

Parents of current FISD students will receive emails in April to register for the next academic year. Registration for pre-kindergarten begins on April 1 for qualifying four-year-olds, with eligibility requirements available through FISD resources.

The online enrollment process requires several documents: a certified copy of the birth certificate, immunization records, proof of residency, last report card or unofficial transcript for high school students, and the driver's license of the enrolling parent. Students are generally assigned schools based on their residential address but may apply for transfers or enroll in Schools and Programs of Choice offered by the district.

For those enrolling in the current school year before May 21, 2025—the last day of classes—enrollment remains open. A special transfer period has been added exclusively for new K-8 students from February 17 to February 28. During this time, these students can apply for an in-district transfer if they have submitted an enrollment application expressing interest.

Nelson Middle School is at capacity and cannot accept new enrollments for the next school year; affected students will attend nearby campuses with transportation provided by FISD.
