Frisco Independent School District (FISD) track and field athletes secured a significant number of regional titles and medals at the recent 5A Region II meet in Arlington and 4A Region II meet in Commerce. Across both events, FISD athletes won eight regional titles and earned medals in 25 events.
Heritage emerged as the leading FISD team, taking third place in the boys category and landing tenth in the girls category in the 5A Region II meet. In the same meet, the Emerson girls placed sixth, while the Lone Star boys secured eighth position. Over in the 4A Region II meet, Panther Creek girls finished fifth, with the Panther Creek boys finishing in the tenth spot.
Athletes who secured one of the top two places in their events have qualified for the University Interscholastic League (UIL) state meet set to take place on May 1 for 4A and May 2 for 5A at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin. Additionally, the best-performing third-place finishers from each of Texas's four regions will also have the opportunity to compete in the state meet.

Notable medalists among FISD boys include Davian Groce of Lone Star in the 200m, and CJ Williams of Heritage in both the discus and shot put events, who all secured championship titles. In the girls' events, Heritage's Amelia Fair won the 300m hurdles, while Sunmi Akinyeye also from Heritage clinched victory in the 200m. Several other FISD athletes also made podium finishes in various events.
In the 4A category, Jalen Lott of Panther Creek claimed the long jump title among the boys, while Nautica-Marie Tunstel from Panther Creek won the 100m in the girls' events.
